Battlefield 6 Players Concur: Challenges Are Excessively Difficult
The launch of the eagerly awaited Battlefield 6 garnered broad praise, notably for its flagship multiplayer mode. Exclusively on Steam, concurrent player counts peaked at nearly 750,000. However, despite its popularity, an increasing amount of players are voicing discontent with some of the game's hardest challenges, which are necessary to obtain particular firearms.
Gamers have begun resorting to tailored sessions set up using Battlefield Portal to finish these tasks, emphasizing just how grueling these challenges have become.
Comprehending Battlefield 6 Tasks
Tasks represent Battlefield 6's permanent multiplayer tasks, in contrast to the frequently updated everyday and weekly missions. There are four types of assignments, but while the majority only reward skins and a few gadgets, finishing the gun missions is the sole method of acquiring 12 of the 41 primary weapons available in the game.
Some of these gated guns may soon make their appearance on rankings for the best guns in Battlefield 6.
Gamer Backlash across Reddit
On Reddit, players are justifiably sharing their frustrations about how hard and tedious a number of these challenges are. An individual player pointed out one of the most outrageous examples, needed to obtain the KTS100 MK8 LMG:
- Subdue 300 opponents with LMGs
- Deal 10,000 close-range damage with LMGs
"This task is so atrocious and totally unreasonable, I want to scream in frustration," is a quote that summarizes just how annoyingly hard these tasks are.
The suppression feature in the game is less effective than in previous titles in the series, so it doesn't have anywhere near as many advantages in battle as it used to in previous games. It only counts as suppression if you miss multiple shots in a row.
Meanwhile, hipfiring an LMG is wildly inaccurate and functions solely at very short distances, which is not usually a position you want to be. That player also highlighted the irony in the SMG challenge, required for the SCW-10, which requires kills while aiming down the sights, when that task would be considerably more fitting to hipfire kills, and the other way around.
Another Extremely Difficult Challenge
Another Reddit user highlighted another ridiculously tough challenge, this time in the long-range weapon type to obtain the PSR:
- Achieve 150 headshot eliminations over 200m with sniper rifles
This is challenging enough as it is, but there's an additional crucial factor to consider: most Battlefield 6 maps don't even support combat at that kind of range.
There is a decent selection of map sizes, but given there are merely nine battlegrounds in the game at present, it implies you must stick to playing New Sobek City, Mirak Valley, and perhaps Operation Firestorm in a best-case scenario if you aim to take long-range shots from over 200m away.
The Bypass
There is a workaround though: the custom game tool. This portal feature is a system that permits you to create personalized matches on the battleground of your choice, complete with bots. This means you can exploit the mechanics… but it doesn't exactly feel like the spirit of the game.
Yet, if completing the missions in a normal session seems counterproductive, since you have to play in such an atypical style that harms both you and your squad, is it surprising for finishing these in a custom game so allies are not impaired?
Future Adjustments
It should not be shocking if a number of these missions are made easier in the near future, because should they remain unchanged, certain gamers simply will never acquire the locked firearms.
At the moment, the audience continues to share their thoughts on these challenging in-game tasks, anticipating a less arduous player experience in coming revisions.
