The American entrepreneur Rules Out Tottenham Hotspur Buyout Proposal After Approach

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

The long-serving executive managed Tottenham's transition to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the year 2019.

Innovative business leader Earick has rejected launching a buyout proposal for the North London club.

The club had previously “clearly turned down” an preliminary inquiry from a consortium spearheaded by Earick last month and maintained the team was not for sale.

But UK takeover and merger rules dictated that, after an initial approach rejected, Earick's consortium needed to make an offer by 24 October or state they would refrain.

Confirmation of the determination was made in a statement made by the club to the stock exchange, stating the organization is “not in an offer period.”

The entrepreneur shared an image of the announcement on online platforms, stating: “It's been a privilege interacting with Tottenham Hotspur and the owners' representatives over the past few weeks.

“I have great respect for the organization, its leadership, and its fans, and desire only the best.”

The club's board expressed gratitude to the syndicate for its “constructive approach” in negotiations and for “acknowledging the definitive view” of the proprietors that the club is off the market.

Brooklyn Earick is a former DJ who also served in space technology for Nasa before establishing his technology firm, which focuses on tech, communications, sport and leisure.

His approach was the third approach declined by the team's directors since the sudden departure of executive chairman Levy in the fall.

Earlier in September, the team turned down offers from previous club stakeholder Amanda Staveley's PCP International and a group spearheaded by Dr Roger Kennedy and the co-investor through the holding company.

Levy and his household hold about a significant stake of Enic Sports & Developments Holdings Ltd – which has an almost 87% shareholding in Tottenham.

The executive was the English top flight's longest-serving chairman and is estimated to have earned over £50 million during his long tenure in the role.

Yet he was also the subject of ongoing dissent by the club's followers, notably last term as domestic league results were unsatisfactory.

Tottenham secured their initial silverware in 17 years when they overcame United in last season's continental decider.
